Michael was born in 1970 in a town near Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of eight he moved to a bustling city called Pietermaritzburg. He was fortunate enough to attend a private school here called St Charles College. It was at this school, in his secondary years he developed a keen artistic flare and won awards at school for his artwork.

Upon finishing school, he was drafted into the conscription army. Two tough years passed fairly quickly! Not long after this Michael moved to London and bumped into old friend Tom Gerrard on a scuba diving trip in Egypt's Red Sea. This encounter lead Michael to becoming a scuba instructor in London. He also traveled and worked all over the world, as an instructor. Michael quickly developed a keen interest for underwater photography, which in turn quickly developed out of the water too! In 2005 the urge to have a camera glued to his hand, became too great, and Michael has been working as a professioinal photographer ever since!

Michael's passion to succeed and enjoy his photography has lead him to work with some amazing people and companies. These include, Khiel's of L'Oreal UK, "MINE" Magazine in Dubai, the Make Up Store in Sweden, and Rimmel London Dubai, L'Oreal Middle East, Ya Hala Magazine just to name a few.
